Questions and answers
Where do the jobs come from?
From the job boards companies publish themselves, the pages where a company lists its own openings, read every hour, and from two job sites whose terms allow their listings to be shown elsewhere.
Every job links to the company's own page, or that site's, to apply. CareerHolo never takes applications itself.
How up to date is it, and how do you know a job has closed?
The boards are read again every hour, and every posting is checked again after it is listed. When a company takes a posting down, it is marked closed and leaves the search. If you saved it, your saved list says so.
What does "reposted" mean?
A role, meaning the same company, title and place, that was taken down and then posted again later. It can mean the role is hard to fill, so it is worth knowing before you apply.
Several openings for the same role posted side by side do not count: only a new ad after an earlier one closed. To leave them out of a search, tick "Hide reposted roles" in the filters.
Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No. When you use Match your resume, the PDF or Word file is read in your browser and never leaves your device. Only what is found in it, your skills, level and where you want to work, is sent to find matching jobs, and that is not stored or logged, unless you ask for daily matches: then only that list is saved, never the file.
How accurate are the salary and visa sponsorship?
Both come from the posting's own words. Pay is shown when the posting states it, and visa sponsorship when the posting says it sponsors one, or that it cannot. When a posting says nothing, the job says "Not stated" rather than guessing.
Postings can be out of date, so check the details with the company before you rely on them.
Why only tech roles?
CareerHolo is for people looking for tech work: software, data, product, design, IT, security and hardware engineering. Sales, marketing, finance and operations roles at the same companies are left out, so you do not have to scroll past them. Sales engineers and technical recruiters stay, as they work in engineering teams.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free. Searching, the salary pages, visa sponsorship and resume matching need no account.
What do I get if I sign in?
You can save jobs and see when one closes, keep a saved search, see what is new for it since you last looked, and get the new jobs that fit your resume's skills every day. Sign in with Google or GitHub: CareerHolo never sees your password. What is kept, and how to delete it, is in the privacy policy.
I am an employer. How do I get a posting or logo removed?
Email info@careerholo.com with the link. It is taken down and does not come back with the next update. A posting you close on your own job board also leaves CareerHolo by itself, usually within a day.
How is the typical salary range worked out?
From the open postings for that role and place that state a salary, converted to one currency where they differ. The typical range is the middle 80% of them, so one unusual posting cannot skew it. A role and place get a salary page only once at least 10 postings state a salary.
