About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong AUTOSAR expertise to drive development of challenging software that will be deployed in production vehicles. This position will help the team execute effectively through technical guidance, careful prioritization and using best practices for complex in-vehicle software systems. You will work directly with customers to help them develop, port and/or integrate software applications into the Vehicle OS, including on Classic AUTOSAR and Adaptive AUTOSAR platforms.
The applications span multiple vehicle domains and need to be integrated across a wide range of SIL, HIL and vehicle setups.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Work directly with customers to integrate their software features into our Vehicle OS using C and C++
- Design, configure and integrate software components on Classic AUTOSAR (RTE, BSW, SWC) and/or Adaptive AUTOSAR (ara::com, Execution Management, SOME/IP) platforms
- Support customers in migrating or bridging AUTOSAR-based applications into the Vehicle OS
- Develop vehicle platform software in C, C++ and Simulink in response to direct customer requests
- Project manage vehicle integration timelines and execution to hit SoP milestones
- Set up a vehicle integration and testing strategy across multiple timezones with Japan and the US
- Influence the technical strategy of the team when balancing work on new features, scaling challenges, and technical debt
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality software that can fulfill the project requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
- MSc in computer science, robotics or related fields from a top institution
- 5+ years of experience shipping complex production software, ideally in automotive
- Hands-on experience with Classic AUTOSAR and/or Adaptive AUTOSAR, including architecture, configuration and integration
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR toolchains (e.g. Vector DaVinci, EB tresos, ETAS ISOLAR or similar)
- Production experience writing or integrating C++ based software
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions to complex architectural problems
- An understanding of automotive electronic systems and how to set up and debug them
- Fluency in both English and Japanese (written and verbal), with the ability to operate effectively in a bilingual business environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet and SOME/IP
- Experience with service-oriented architectures, POSIX/Linux or QNX-based platforms
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) or automotive cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434)
- Experience with direct customer management
- Experience developing software for large projects (CI/CD, release process, etc.)
Benefits and Perks:
- Lunch and dinner allowance
- Equity (RSU) offering
- English / Japanese language allowance
- Company sponsored housing program
- Pension plan (確定拠出年金)
