- Create detailed CAD models, drawings, assemblies, and specifications
- Participate hands-on in the fabrication and assembly of designed equipment
- Design hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems for custom machinery
- Manage multiple concurrent R&D design projects
- Work alongside fabricators during builds to troubleshoot and refine designs
- Test and validate equipment performance, making design adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with production teams and technical staff across Re:Build sites
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for components and services
- Document designs, processes, and best practices
What you bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 10+ years of machine design and custom equipment design experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings
- Willingness to participate hands-on in machine fabrication and assembly
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems design experience
- PLC or controls integration knowledge
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes (welding, sheet metal, machining)
- Ability to design practical, buildable equipment from concept through production
- Experience managing multiple design projects independently
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- FEA or simulation analysis experience
- Hands-on fabrication or machining background (welding, assembly experience a plus)
- Experience designing equipment for diverse manufacturing environments
- Background in automation equipment or process improvement machinery
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Primarily based at Re:Build's Denver facility
- Mix of office/engineering environment using CAD software and hands-on shop floor work
