Backend Software Engineer_HU

This role is located in Budapest, Hungary - We are a hybrid work environment and are in the office 3+ days/per week.

About You:

• You are an engineer at heart who finds joy in building the software that other software runs on
• You believe that a platform should be a set of robust, resilient, and intuitive libraries, not just a collection of scripts
• You are excited about software design patterns and know when they are helping or getting in the way
• You are excited about leveraging AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve engineering velocity, developer experience, and platform reliability

What skills do I need?

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, building complex backend solutions in a SaaS environment
• Expert skills in at least one modern backend programming language
• Proficiency in relational and nonrelational databases
• Strong understanding of cloud native or cloud hybrid solutions
• Experience using AI-powered engineering tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to accelerate development workflows

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with our tech stack - Node.js, Go, Typescript, React, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Postgres, AWS
• Prior experience developing tools to improve the developer experience
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
• Previous experience mentoring junior engineers

Key Responsibilities:

• Write and maintain clean, high-quality, efficient and well tested code that aligns with project specifications
• Architect and implement key abstractions that bridge the gap between Software Engineering and DevOps
• Proactively identify pain points in the platform and propose elegant solutions
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering counterparts to build robust and reliable tooling
• Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for our platform
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling and automation workflows to improve developer productivity, accelerate troubleshooting, and enhance platform reliability and maintainability
