About the role

As a Sr. Technical Writer II, You will work alongside engineers responsible for cloud services, a suite of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools, and the container-based infrastructure platform to turn firsthand knowledge of how these services are built and operated into clear, accurate documentation. You will develop a framework for internal documentation that helps teams maintain and support these services, along with user-facing guidance and briefings for government stakeholders.

You will own the documentation lifecycle: identifying gaps, verifying content with technical owners, publishing updates, and keeping knowledge assets current as systems change. You will also integrate automation and artificial intelligence (AI) into documentation workflows to improve efficiency and modernize how knowledge is created, maintained, and shared.

Work is onsite, Clearance is required.

Because we know our future relies on our deep understanding and relentless focus on our people, we live by our mission: A passion for our people. Value for our customers.

If you think you can see yourself delivering our mission and pursuing our goals with us, then check out the job description below!

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with the cloud, CI/CD toolchain, and container-based platforms infrastructure teams to understand how services are designed, delivered, operated, and supported.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, SOPs, runbooks, user guides, technical diagrams, workflows, and roadmaps for internal teams and service users.
  • Build a consistent documentation framework with templates, content standards, ownership, review schedules, and clear publishing practices.
  • Turn engineering discussions and system changes into accurate guidance and briefings for technical teams and senior government stakeholders.
  • Verify content with technical owners and keep knowledge assets current throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Use approved automation and AI tools to streamline drafting, review, publishing, and maintenance while verifying technical accuracy and following security requirements.
  • Manage documentation priorities and deliverables independently in an Agile environment.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance
  • 7+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, knowledge manager, or in a similar content-focused role.
  • Experience using a content management system or an intranet (e.g., GitLab, Confluence, Drupal) to publish, maintain, and govern documentation and knowledge assets.
  • Experience developing technical diagrams, charts, and graphics for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience supporting technical teams with writing templates, SOPs, and style guides grounded in human-centered design (HCD) and writing-for-the-web best practices.
