Job Summary
We’re hiring a Staff Software Engineer to help design and evolve the endpoint agent architecture behind Kaseya’s next-generation Remote Monitoring and Management platform. This is a hands-on systems engineering role focused on Rust, cross-platform development, networking, concurrency, and integration with distributed backend services. You will own critical agent capabilities from design through production while providing technical direction across the team.
Roles & Responsibilities
Design and build endpoint agent capabilities that run across Windows, macOS, and Linux
Develop production systems software using Rust, Tokio, and native operating system APIs
Create cross-platform abstractions for process management, networking, filesystem access, services, and device operations
Build secure communication between endpoint agents and backend platform services using technologies such as TLS, WebSockets, gRPC, or MQTT
Improve agent performance, concurrency, resource usage, reliability, security, and upgrade behaviour
Own critical components from technical design and implementation through automated testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support
Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions involving endpoint and backend platform teams
Mentor engineers and establish reusable patterns for cross-platform systems development and AI-assisted engineering workflows
Required Qualifications
7+ years of software engineering experience building systems software, endpoint agents, device-management software, or similar production applications using C, C++, or Rust
2+ years of experience developing production software using Rust, including asynchronous or concurrent programming with Tokio or a similar runtime
Experience delivering cross-platform native software across Windows, macOS, and Linux
Experience developing against operating system APIs such as Win32, POSIX, or native macOS frameworks
Experience leading the design and delivery of networked or distributed systems using technologies such as TLS, WebSockets, gRPC, or MQTT
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building RMM, UEM, EDR, endpoint security, or device-management products
Experience with threading, concurrency, process management, and performance-sensitive systems
Experience with AWS services or cloud-connected endpoint platforms
Familiarity with TypeScript, Python, or related supporting technologies
Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, or automated release workflows
Contributions to open-source systems software, developer tooling, or platform projects
Experience using AI-assisted development tools for implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, or codebase analysis
