Product Engineer (Mid-Level)

About the Role

Join the product engineering team at a Series A consumer fintech company building tools to help people manage cash flow and improve their financial wellbeing. You will build and operate customer-facing features, working across backend systems, product analytics, and production releases.

What You'll Do

• Build product features end to end, including domain models, business logic, and API integrations.
• Deliver and iterate on product work through incremental releases guided by data and product milestones.
• Use SQL and analytics tools to evaluate product and system performance.
• Debug complex state machines in event-driven systems to support a reliable customer experience.
• Ship through CI/CD, own implementations in production, and respond to incidents as needed.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience building backend features end to end for production systems, including meaningful early-stage startup experience.
• Proficiency designing and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka or Pub/Sub, and debugging distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and code review.
• Experience writing SQL and using analytics tools to assess product and system performance.
• Experience building consumer-facing products and strong computer science fundamentals.
• Go experience on GCP is valuable, as is experience in fintech or other data-intensive, high-velocity environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is $120,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California. Candidates based in Seattle or willing to relocate to San Francisco or Seattle for in-person work are also considered.
