About the role

The role & impact

Accountants and bookkeepers are some of the most trusted advisors in the world, and this role is about understanding their world deeply and speaking up for their needs. As Product Marketing Manager on the Accountant & Bookkeeper (AB) Platform, you will build expertise in how practices run day to day, with a particular focus on the connected Compliance workflow, where audit trails, regulatory obligations and client work need real precision.

You will shape positioning and messaging for the AB Platform, from the Partner Hub through to Workpapers and tax, and build a living library of verified customer proof points. You will also plan lifecycle programmes that help partners adopt the workflows that matter most. You will Go Further by turning insight into go-to-market plans that make a real difference for partners across AU, NZ, UK, US, Canada and beyond.

The team & how they connect

Our Core Product Marketing team works closely with Product Management, Design, Customer and regional go-to-market teams to bring a complete view of accountant and bookkeeper needs into product decisions. We turn product initiatives into clear customer value, so partners get the most out of Xero as efficiently as possible. We Go Together across Auckland, Queenstown and Melbourne, sharing what we learn and building on each other’s work.

The team is currently working on / Initially, the role will focus on

  • Taking Workpapers Plus to market in Australia, and Workpapers and Workpapers Plus to market in New Zealand.
  • Developing a global value proposition and key messages for Agentic Tax.
  • Sharpening how the Compliance workflow fits into the wider Books to Workpapers to Tax story for the AB Platform.
  • Growing a customer proof and advocacy programme, and lifecycle campaigns that drive habitual use of priority workflows.

Where and how you can work

This role is based in Melbourne or Auckland, and we’re open to candidates across Australia and New Zealand. It’s a 12-month fixed-term contract with flexible hybrid working and no fixed office days. We’ll ask you to be in the office for team offsites and key stakeholder meetings. You may also travel to key markets for customer research, stakeholder engagement and key events.

Here are some of the things we are looking for

  • Bring a strong technical understanding of accounting, tax or compliance, or the confidence to get to grips with it quickly.
  • Have product marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, and a track record of taking complex products to market.
  • Can turn highly technical compliance, audit or tax capabilities into clear, practical language that busy partners understand.
  • Enjoy working across product, compliance, tax and regional teams, and keeping several stakeholders aligned at once.
  • Are curious about how tax and compliance differ across regions, and like working with specialists to get it right.
  • Bring the drive to Go Bold with a clear point of view, and the storytelling skill to bring real customer proof to life.
