The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take charge of the conversational intelligence layer of a consumer application, from core agent behavior through to what users see on screen. The focus is on making language-model driven interactions dependable, accurate and genuinely useful over extended conversations, supported by rigorous measurement.

What you'll do

- Architect and own a conversational agent end to end, covering prompt design, calling external tools, multi-stage reasoning and incremental response delivery.

- Turn existing conversation state and memory prototypes into robust production systems.

- Make long, multi-turn conversations more dependable by handling errors, retrying sensibly and degrading smoothly when things break.

- Build the rendering layer that converts agent output into interface elements.

- Set the approach for working with several model vendors, including response caching, schema-constrained outputs and backup routing.

- Create evaluation tooling that measures agent quality and guides improvements.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Hands-on experience designing, running and refining evaluations for search or ranking quality.

- A background building products for everyday consumers rather than internal tools, ideally outside the B2B space.

- A record of launching language-model features that interpret what a user wants and return tailored results to live users.

- Ability to walk through concrete production issues you have diagnosed and fixed.

- Breadth across applied AI work, including prompting, embeddings, retrieval and personalization memory, rather than depth in a single area.

- Sharp analytical ability and a quick learning pace.

- Regular use of AI-assisted tools in your own software development.

Bonus points

- Proficiency in TypeScript or Python.

- Time spent at a high-growth startup or a well-known technology company.

- A degree from a highly regarded university, or comparable evidence of strong ability.

- Less than 4 years of experience can be considered when your track record and personal projects are outstanding.
