About the role
About the company
Our client is a healthcare technology company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the core of a software platform end to end, from database design and backend business logic to the user-facing experience. Work in a very small engineering group where you design, build and stand behind what you ship, moving between data modeling, payments logic, AI-assisted workflows and product design.
What you'll do
- Design and build data models, APIs and state-driven business logic that underpin the platform.
- Own systems that handle billing, payments and financial rules accurately and reliably.
- Build AI-powered features that assist with documentation and administrative work.
- Create tools that automate back-office operations and reduce manual effort.
- Design user-facing products for end users and their families, from onboarding to scheduling, communication and payments.
- Take responsibility for security, compliance, reliability and production systems.
- Work directly with users to understand their pain points and turn them into simple, intuitive software.
- Make architecture decisions and drive loosely defined problems through to delivery.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience in a high-accuracy engineering environment such as fintech, healthcare technology or another sensitive industry where correctness matters.
- Product engineering experience with ownership over architecture or system design, ideally at a growth-stage startup.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Strong attention to detail and a firm understanding that correctness matters.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York City or San Francisco, with three days a week in the office.
- Ability to model complex workflows as states, transitions and edge cases, and to turn messy processes into clean software.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a high degree of ownership.
- Active use of AI tools in daily engineering work.
- Good judgment in balancing speed with long-term code quality, and a continued love of writing code.
Bonus points
- Experience in healthcare technology.
