The role

You will set technical direction, release production software and work side by side with technical leadership and end users. The position is expected to grow into managing an engineering group.
What you'll do
- Build and scale the server-side and data foundations that take in several kinds of live input and deliver organized results.
- Combine sensor, telemetry and audio streams into analytical and instructional tools.
- Decide on core frameworks, infrastructure and long-term technical direction.
- Collaborate closely with hands-on users and convert their feedback into engineering decisions.
- Deliver working software across both frontend and backend, refining it from real-world usage.

- Five or more years building and operating sophisticated software in production environments.
- Comfort working across frontend and backend, with particular strength on the server and data side.
- Strong skills in Python and TypeScript.
- A history of driving projects from initial scoping through release and follow-up with little supervision.
- Experience in early-stage startups or a record of succeeding without a set playbook.
- Sound architectural judgment for scalability, reliability and performance.
- Ease with ambiguity and speed, plus a habit of raising quality through code review and mentoring.
- Willingness to work on-site five days a week and to travel occasionally to meet customers.
Bonus points
- Prior work with software tied to aviation or flight training.
- Exposure to machine learning integration or real-time data processing.
- Familiarity with speech and audio processing in applications.
- Regular use of AI coding assistants.
- Earlier experience as a founding or lead engineer at a young company.
