GRVTY is seeking an experienced, self-starter, and driven Product Owner to join our high-performing and dynamic team. The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the software translating operational needs into clear, actionable work for the development team. This role owns the product backlog, prioritizes work based on operational impact, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams like government Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) personnel, the Operator community, UX Designer, and software developers to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with mission strategy.

Additionally, work with development teams to lead backlog grooming sessions, increment and sprint planning, and capacity allocation to increment releases that will ensure compliance with system requirements. The person will be exposed and must have the aptitude to build a solid understanding of the hardware integration components.

This role demands a highly motivated individual who can take vaguely defined tasks and independently deliver high-quality artifacts.

What You'll be Owning

  • Daily collaboration and communication with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Software Lead, Architect, Development Scrum Team, Systems Engineering Team, Integration and Test Team, Scrum Masters, and other Product Owners in facilitating proactive creation of increment/sprint work
  • Ability to evaluate business needs and translate them into practical technology solutions that improve efficiency, capability, or user experience
  • Demonstrated success delivering and managing scalable, reliable, and sustainable solutions in complex technical environments
  • Ability to assess existing solutions, identify limitations or opportunities for improvement, and implement changes that provide sustainable value over time
  • Track lessons learned that can be leveraged across future Increment/Sprint Planning and Retrospectives rituals
  • Monitor and evaluate progress by tracking sprint metrics (ie. Capacity vs. Load, velocity, burndown, etc.) for software development and provide timely input into the monthly Program Management Review (PMR) package
  • Analyze development performance and Operator feedback to inform backlog refinement and roadmap decisions
  • Manage and maintain prioritization of bugs and requests from the operational community in the backlog
  • Must understand the needs of the Operators and how to translate them into workable sprint items for the Software Development Team
  • Ensure each feature has a well-defined acceptance criterion while meeting operational mission objectives and yields working software at the end of each sprint
  • Active presenter and key contributor at the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Increment Planning Sessions and provide updates as needed at the Change Control Board (CCB)
  • Work with various team members to create end of increment and release planning artifacts

What You Must Have

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical Proficiency and familiarity with software development processes and tools (e.g. Agile methodologies, GitLab, Command Prompt)
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, Agile environment
  • Experience maintaining sprints with software development tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)

What Would be Nice to Have

  • Previous Electronic Warfare (EW) experience
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner or similar Agile certification
  • Technical background or ability to work closely with engineering on architectural discussions
  • Experience using data and analytics to drive sprint/increment decisions
