This individual will deliver technically excellent services, develop practical and defensible strategies for complex sites, prepare technical proposals and reports, supervise field investigations, manage staff, and interact with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams. In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to further develop project and staff management skills, contribute to business development, and work on challenging small- and large-scale projects throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Greater Philadelphia region.
Job Responsibilities

- Navigate and apply NJDEP regulations, technical requirements, guidance, forms, and review processes within the Contaminated Site Remediation and Redevelopment Program and broader LSRP framework;
- Support Pennsylvania investigation, cleanup, and redevelopment projects under PADEP Act 2, including development of appropriate attainment strategies, application of statewide health, site-specific, and background standards, and preparation or review of notices of intent to remediate, remedial investigation reports, cleanup plans, final reports, and related regulatory submittals;
- Develop technically sound, practical, and defensible strategies for complex contaminated sites, including projects with atypical conditions, multiple areas of concern, sensitive receptors, redevelopment constraints, commingled impacts, or evolving regulatory requirements;
- Plan, direct, and interpret site characterization, remedial investigation, feasibility evaluation, remedial design, remedial action, and post-remediation monitoring activities;
- Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects, including data interpretation, conceptual site model development, fate and transport evaluation, and remedial alternative assessment;
- Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of observations, findings, and data quality;
- Manage and deliver multiple projects and tasks within established budgets, schedules, and deadlines;
- Effectively organize, write, edit, and critically review proposals, work plans, reports, regulatory submittals, cost estimates, schedules, and client communications;
- Participate in identifying and pursuing new clients, developing additional work within existing projects, and attending business development meetings with new and existing clients;
- Provide direct oversight and management of junior and mid-level staff for specific project assignments; coach, train, motivate, and develop staff assigned to environmental projects; and participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
- Coordinate with other work groups across office locations and disciplines, including environmental, geotechnical, site/civil, survey, natural resources, and data/GIS teams, on an as-needed basis;
- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, LSRPs, NJDEP and PADEP representatives, attorneys, developers, contractors, subcontractors, laboratories, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and other stakeholders;
- Participate in relevant professional organizations, technical programs, and regional environmental and redevelopment industry events; and
- Perform other duties as requested.

- Current LSRP license or demonstrated progress toward LSRP eligibility and examination is preferred;
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or demonstrated progress toward licensure, is preferred. A geology, hydrogeology, or environmental science background is particularly desirable, although qualified environmental engineers are encouraged to apply;
- Experience with complex remediation matters such as commingled plumes, vapor intrusion, ecological receptors, brownfields redevelopment, historic fill, linear construction, remedial action permits, institutional or engineering controls, and long-term monitoring is preferred;
- Experience designing or managing PFAS investigations, including sampling program design, data quality considerations, source evaluation, fate and transport, groundwater delineation, and regulatory strategy, is a plus;
- Proficient in environmental due diligence, site investigation, conceptual site model development, remedial strategy, and quantitative and technical analyses;
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training and ability to maintain annual refresher training, medical clearance, and respirator fit testing;
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable federal and state regulatory requirements, with strong emphasis on NJDEP and working knowledge of PADEP programs;
