Senior Software Engineer

Sharetec is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our API Development team!

Behind every loan payment, transfer, and balance check at a credit union, a set of systems has to talk to each other securely and reliably. You’ll design and build those connections and help modernize the platform behind them, working closely with product, QA, and fellow engineers. You won’t be doing it alone.

Remote (U.S., excluding California) | Full-time, exempt | $110,000 – $140,000, plus bonus eligibility

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and third-party integrations, primarily using Go
• Partner with product, QA, and other engineers to turn business needs into reliable technical solutions
• Guide API design, code reviews, and engineering standards, with attention to security, performance, and maintainability
• Help modernize legacy functionality into modular services and improve testing, observability, and delivery practices
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and support a culture of learning and shared ownership

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on complex backend projects
• Strong proficiency in a backend programming language and a willingness to work in Go
• Hands-on experience designing, securing, and integrating RESTful APIs and external systems
• Experience with database design and performance using relational or document databases
• Working knowledge of software architecture, CI/CD, and cloud-based development
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical partners

Nice to Have

• Go, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB experience
• Microservices, distributed systems, integration hubs, or service bus patterns
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Financial services or fintech experience, including familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
• AI-enabled integrations, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients or servers
