About the role
Radar Reinvented.
Echodyne offers the world’s first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points.
Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
Echodyne is seeking a Data Analyst II to join our fast-growing team.
ROLE OVERVIEW
In this role, you’ll ingest, label, and analyze data collected from test activities and field deployments to evaluate Echodyne radar system performance. You’ll be responsible for identifying potential issues, generating actionable insights in a timely manner, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and customer outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean, format, transform, and validate data collected from field tests and customer deployments. Ingest datasets into databases for analysis.
- Label targets of opportunity to enhance datasets used for classification model development.
- Apply statistical analysis and data science methodologies to evaluate and characterize radar system performance across key metrics. Identify anomalies, performance degradations, and areas of concern.
- Generate clear, well-structured written reports and visualizations summarizing analytical findings for both internal and external consumption.
- Present analysis reports to stakeholders, decision makers, and other interested parties.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Python-based data processing and analysis pipelines to improve automation and scalability.
- Support root cause investigations by analyzing datasets to diagnose system-level and algorithmic issues.
- Assist in maintaining machine learning models for target classification.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand analysis requirements and clearly communicate conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated technical writing and data visualization skills, with the ability to present complex findings in an interpretable and actionable manner.
- Solid background in statistics and experience analyzing structured and unstructured datasets.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, including experience with data processing, analysis, and visualization libraries and tools.
- Strong spatial reasoning skills and the ability to work with multidimensional data, including 3D geometry concepts (vectors, rotations, coordinate transformations).
DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)
- Proficiency in Linux environments.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and domain concepts.
- Familiarity with sensor systems (e.g. camera, lidar, radar, scientific instruments), signal processing, state estimation, and machine learning techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS with 3+ years’ work experience, MS, or PhD in statistics, math, data science, engineering, or physics.
- U.S. citizen. This role may require handling export controlled (ITAR, EAR) data.
Echodyne’s technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant’s eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations. Therefore, we will ask you as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or green card holder, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.
