Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build and extend backend-focused features for a web application, working alongside founders to shape system design, mentor peers and take clear ownership of a product area from the ground up.

What you'll do

- Design and build core product features with broad scope and independence, alongside the founding leadership.

- Ship large feature work that drives direct business growth.

- Review code and technical designs to raise the quality of the whole engineering team.

- Become the go-to owner for a major part of the product.

- Interview, onboard and coach new engineers as the team expands.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 4 or more years of professional software engineering experience.

- Strong backend engineering background, with prior experience as a founder considered a plus.

- Hands-on experience running mature production web codebases in Python and a modern JavaScript framework.

- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.

- Formal training in an engineering discipline at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Bonus points

- Experience solving production scaling problems.

- Experience with search engines, data ingestion pipelines, document processing or high-volume messaging systems.

- Experience managing one or two engineers for at least a year.

- Familiarity with compliance standards and financial industry work.

- Experience at a well-known fast-paced startup or large technology company.

- Base salary: USD 200,000 to 250,000 per year
