About the role

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI software team as a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer, embedding with enterprise customers to bring AI agents into production. You will own deployments from initial discovery through launch, while turning customer learnings into improvements to the core product.

What You'll Do

  • Work with customers to understand onboarding, adoption, and renewal workflows, then identify where AI agents can deliver value.
  • Connect agents to customer systems and data sources, configure integrations and single sign-on, and bring deployments into production.
  • Build and refine evaluations using real customer data to assess agent quality before launch.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to support account activation and growth through technical discovery and implementation.
  • Improve the product based on field learnings and resolve platform gaps that affect customer deployments.
  • Debug production deployments, investigate root causes, and deliver focused end-to-end solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Three to seven years of experience in customer-facing software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or solutions engineering, including ownership of customer rollouts.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM agents with customers, including prompt development, evaluations, and complex, long-running agents.
  • Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills, along with React frontend experience.
  • Experience in early-stage or high-growth startups and customer-facing deployments.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and a record of stable role tenure and recent professional growth.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California.
