We are looking for an experienced TPF Developer with strong expertise in TPF, z/TPF, Assembler, TPFC, and TPFDF development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mainframe and TPF environments, with a solid understanding of software development, debugging, testing, and production support.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimising applications within TPF and z/TPF environments. This role requires strong technical problem-solving abilities, experience with development and CI tools, and the ability to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, debug, and test applications using TPF, z/TPF, Assembler, TPFC, and TPFDF.
  • Develop and maintain software solutions within mainframe and TPF environments.
  • Work with SPMs and relevant development tools to support application development and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across testing and production environments.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to software development and application functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to deliver reliable and efficient software solutions.
  • Support production implementations, including on-call responsibilities and post-implementation warranty support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application stability, performance, and overall system reliability.
  • Assist the Technical Product Manager with release planning and requirement preparation.
  • Contribute to development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3–15 years of overall technical experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of software development experience.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in TPF and z/TPF development.
  • Strong expertise in z/TPF, Assembler, TPFC, TPFDF, and SPMs.
  • Proven experience with software development and CI tools.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe and TPF environments.
  • Hands-on experience in application design, coding, debugging, and testing.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues in test and production environments.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  • Strong technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting production releases, implementations, and ongoing application maintenance.
